With its wild beaches, lush countryside, and countless family-friendly activities, the Cotentin is a perfect destination for a holiday with kids. Far from the crowds, it offers space, peace, and plenty to discover together. Whether you’re traveling with toddlers or teenagers, there’s something for everyone. Among the must-sees are the impressive Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg and the Ludiver Planetarium, where kids can explore the stars. Also, there are the beautiful nearby beaches, like Sciotot and Surtainville, with lifeguarded swimming areas in summer, playgrounds, and even beach volleyball tournaments. In the Cotentin, family time truly comes alive — it’s a perfect place for families.
La Becterie: A Guesthouse Designed for Families
At La Becterie, welcoming families isn’t just a slogan — it’s part of our everyday life. The guesthouse is designed to make both children and parents feel at home. Our spacious Porquerolles family room features two single beds and a double bed, and we can easily provide extra beds or travel cots for babies and toddlers. Outside, the large garden includes two swings, and we’re happy to lend out all kinds of outdoor games: balls, badminton sets, wooden lawn games, and more. Inside, the shared lounge offers a cozy little art corner with drawing supplies, paints, and stickers. For older kids (and adults), there are over 50 board games to enjoy. And don’t forget our games room, complete with table football and a pool table. It’s truly a perfect place for families to relax and connect.

A Family Story at La Becterie
This week-end, we’re hosting a lovely blended family with two adults and four children, aged 4 to 16. The older kids — 13-year-old twins and their 16-year-old sister— are staying in our Porquerolles family suite, while the parents and their 4-year-old daughter are in the Noirmoutier room, comfortably set up with a travel cot. They already knew the Cotentin well, and were planning to go to Surtainville for the 14th of July fireworks. They finally went to Sciotot where they enjoyed live music. They loved our garden, the board games, and the relaxed family atmosphere of the house. They found La Becterie a perfect place for families.
