A spacious place for resting peacefully after cycling

Cotentin: A Cycling Heartland 🚴‍♂️

The Cotentin Peninsula is firmly rooted in cycling culture, offering well-developed routes and greenways that meander along its dramatic coastline, charming villages, and historic marshlands. With over 1,200 km of marked cycle paths and 230 km of greenways in the Manche region alone, it’s no surprise Cotentin made a dramatic showcase during the 2016 Tour de France Grand Départ. Trails like the 200 km “Tour du Cotentin” loop and the coastal Vélomaritime route reflect the area’s appeal for riders of all levels. By that time, La Becterie was already offering a spacious place to rest peacefully for cyclists.

Bricquebec: Cycling Powerhouse and home to La Becterie

Home to the high-calibre Team Bricquebec Cotentin (National 1), Bricquebec punches far above its weight, topping French races and cups—with 11 national victories and 28 podiums already in 2025. Talented riders such as Corentin Ermenault and internationally renowned Benoît Cosnefroy, who began his career in Bricquebec before joining the WorldTour, exemplify the area’s deep cycling pedigree.

Our rooms are so spacious you could even fit a physiotherapist and a team doctor inside—without bumping elbows. After a day of high-level racing, our peaceful setting is perfect for resting peacefully.

Another Challenge on the Horizon: Sea Meets Sailing

Cycling isn’t the only sport that thrives here—Cotentin is also a proud maritime destination. Soon, the legendary Rolex Fastnet Race will depart nearby from Cherbourg, drawing ocean racers worldwide. With coast, countryside, and competition all around, our region offers the ultimate dual-sport experience. After all, with sea breezes and bike rides alike, our B&B is perfect for resting peacefully between your adventures.
