Dining at La Becterie
In France, the concept of table d’hôtes is a legally defined offering. It allows hosts of bed and breakfasts to serve evening meals to their guests, as long as the meal is shared at the same table and with a single menu. It’s a way of experiencing a home-cooked meal in an authentic, convivial setting. In Cotentin, this tradition is alive and well! Come and experience la table d’hôtes at La Becterie.
In 2025, prices are €22 per adult and €16 per child. Please let us know in advance of any allergies or ingredients you prefer to avoid—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Beyond Restaurants: Why Stay In?
There’s no doubt that restaurants have their charm. But after a long day of exploring the Cotentin peninsula, heading back out for dinner can sometimes feel like a chore. This is especially true if you cycle Cotentin and have no car. Waiting for a table, navigating busy places, or discovering your chosen spot is closed can take the shine off an otherwise perfect day. At La Becterie, we understand this. That’s why we keep a curated list of great nearby restaurants for those who want to venture out. For those who don’t, we offer the comfort and ease of a home-cooked dinner right where you’re staying.

Experience Dining In at La Becterie
One of the joys of offering table d’hôtes is sharing not just food, but stories and moments. I love to cook, and preparing meals with fresh, local ingredients is my way of welcoming you into our home. Staying in for dinner isn’t just about convenience; it’s about connection. Around the table, we take time to talk, to laugh, to discover each other’s lives and exchange favorite spots around the Cotentin. It’s a warm, human experience, just like home should be.

A Taste of My Kitchen: Dishes and Delights
At La Becterie, a few dishes have become true guest favorites: my zucchini flan, a rich and comforting beef bourguignon, a flavorful red lentil dhal, and a fragrant apricot tart with rosemary. This last one takes time and care, but it’s worth every step. To end the evening, we often share a cup of mint and verbena herbal tea from the garden. Then, why not head over to the game room? With a pool table, table football, and more than 75 board games, the night doesn’t have to end at dessert.
