Two years ago, some friendly guests introduced me to a game I didn’t know: this is how I started to play Skyjo at La Becterie. I had never heard of it before, but it quickly became one of my favorites. This best-seller soon joined my personal collection, and now I gladly share its rules and organize evening matches in the game room at La Becterie. It is the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring North Cotentin.

Easy to Learn, Fun to Maste
The game is simple to understand but full of twists. You can read the official rules in detail here. Each player tries to get the lowest score possible by flipping cards and making smart swaps. Trying to complete a column of cards with the same number, and getting rid of it is one of the best way – though difficult one – to lower your score. But beware — flipping your last card too soon can be risky. If you finish the round with more points than even just one other player, your total score for that round doubles. This double penalty can change the course of the game in a heartbeat.
Why I Keep Playing it
Skyjo is the kind of game that creates laughter, suspense, and friendly competition. Every time I host a session at La Becterie, we get moments of pure joy, and sometimes, tense silences when someone faces the tricky last-card choice. If you visit, don’t miss the chance to play Skyjo at La Becterie — you might leave with a new favorite game and a few unforgettable memories
